Statement of Goals:
My artwork is personal and, when I can find the courage, completely honest. I want to show and present to people how I see, feel, and experience things. I draw inspiration from everywhere. Music, movies, pictures, people, everything; there’s no formula for it. I believe great art is more then just a great idea though. It’s the ability to express that idea. It’s my intention to equip myself with all the tools and experience I need to successfully express my ideas. I expect that the rest of my life will be filled with learning and growing as I pursue a career as an artist. I have the intention to continue my education in illustration this fall at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in OR. After that? Who knows, but I’m excited to find out.

Statement of Goals:
Through art, I believe there is great expression and growth. It is a vehicle for sharing emotions, ideas, and is an emotional release. With my work, I work to convey a feeling to the audience while twisting the ties to reality. My personal experiences with the creative process have driven me to pursue a career in Art Therapy. I am attending Marywood University this fall.

Statement of Goals:
Photography is the reason I do not get enough sleep. More often than I care to admit, I will open up Photoshop at 7:00 or 8:00, and the hours will slip by until I realize it is 11:00. I simply find so much joy and such a release when taking, editing, and manipulating photos. I am inspired to create striking, unusual pictures that cause an audience’s eyes to fixate on the photo. Most of my work involves the use of high contrast and bright colors to look at an ordinary object or situation in a different way. I want my photographs to make my audience think. I want them to touch a tiny piece of their brain that is not usually touched. I plan to attend Penn State to study molecular biology, and continue on to earn a PhD. I know I will keep photography as at least a hobby, and possibly as a minor in college.

Statement of Goals:
I love the outdoors, so most of my art is inspired by nature. I hope my art encourages people to go and explore our wonderful ecosystems, and be inspired by nature themselves. Other pieces of my work are based on books and visual media, as I love illustration and design After I graduate from High school, I plan on pursuing a degree in Wildlife Biology/Ecology, and get a minor in the visual arts field.

Statement of Goals:
The intent of my work is to create a thought in the viewers mind. Whether the thought is different for every person or not, I would love for my work to inspire others. I get inspiration from everything and everyone around me. Whether it be my fellow peers or famous artists, looking at the work other people create always gives me new ideas. This year in AP studio art my main concentration is hair, so I’ve been investigating different ideas having to do with that. My future plans include attending a 4 year program for fine art and then pursuing an artistic career of some sort. Although I am unsure of what school I will be attending as of right now, and I am unsure of exactly what it is I want to do after I’m finished school, I am exceedingly confident that I’m taking the first step in the right direction.

Statement of Goals:
The intent of my work is to express myself the best way I know how: through the arts. I am truly passionate about visual arts, particularly drawing and painting. I complete pieces in order to let out my thoughts and feelings on paper and hopefully convey these feelings to others who view my artwork. I am a strong believer in the importance of art as an outlet as well as an important learning tool. I work with a variety of mediums and a variety of subjects depending on the goal of that particular piece. My inspiration is largely drawn from loved ones who surround me. Many of my pieces contain human figures, illustrating my goal of capturing life in a still frame. I am fascinated by the way human figures compare and translate in different mediums. The support of family and friends inspires me to continue to explore and pursue my interest in visual art forms. Although I have not made a final decision about my path after high school, I hope to keep the arts as an integral part of my future. As of now I plan to apply to and attend a school either solely focused on visual arts, or a liberal arts college in order to pursue a career in either design or fine arts.

Statement of Goals:
In my work my primary goal is to tell stories, and through those stories tell truths about humanity or the world around us. I love creating characters and worlds, and I always find myself creating narratives before starting a piece so that the story and mood is reflected just the way I want. Both my imaginary dialogues and life experiences inspire my work. After high school, I plan to take a year off, and then pursue a career as an freelance Illustrator or graphic novelist. Art is truly my passion, and I am determined to make it my livelihood and constant companion in the years to come.

Statement of Goals:
Most of my inspiration comes internally. Because I am at a stage where my life is drastically changing, I feel very uncertain about my future. Up until this point, I feel as if I haven’t made an impact on the world—not that I lack worth, but because I haven’t been presented the opportunity to make a lasting difference. So far, my life has essentially consisted of “preparing for my future.” This is an idea that I struggle with quite a lot. Time is very limited, and I’m ready to stop preparing and start living. While some of my art is simply for enjoyment, Thusly, a lot of my work attempts to portray life as a dream, time as a captor, and reality as a question. While it is always my hope that people enjoy and empathize with my work, the intent of a majority of my art is mainly to create an outlet for my own questions and contemplations. After high school I plan to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach to study Aerospace Engineering. One of my goals is to design aircraft for a company such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, or NASA. Additionally, it has always been my dream to get my pilot’s license and fly my own personal plane.

Performance Piece #2. Acting: monologue: “The Horrors of Holidays”

Statement of Goals:
I have participated in dance and musical theater since I was three, so performing has always been a vast part of my life. I have studied ballet, jazz, modern, and tap. I have also been trained vocally. Since theater has been such a huge part of my life, it has become my dream to be on Broadway. This is where I draw my inspiration. Everyday I work hard to become a better actress, singer, and dancer to hopefully one day obtain my dream. Currently I am a junior at State College Area High School. After high school I hope to go to a performing arts college in New York City, there I will continue my journey to become a Broadway performer. I will be performing Astonishing from the musical Little Women, and The Horrors of Holidays, a comedic monologue. These pieces inspire me as a performing, and overall are a thrill to perform.
