WE’VE GOT TALENT 2010 ONLINE!

Please visit our Virtual Gallery to view the art work and performances of our scholarship and award recipients .

The Clare Fund is proud to announce the scholarship recipients for the first ever “We’ve Got Talent Online!” Congratulations to all the participants for their fine entries and particular kudos to those awarded scholarships and honorable mentions.

Twenty-seven students participated in the Visual Arts Competition, and ten students participated in the Performing Arts competition. We were especially happy that the six schools in Centre County, including one online school, were represented in the two competitions.

An exhibition of some of the artwork of the scholarship recipients in the Visual Arts were on display at Saints Café in State College during the Central PA Festival of the Arts in July.

About the Clare Fund

The Clare Fund supports the arts by encouraging young people of Centre County Pennsylvania to develop their creativity and talents through participation in the visual and performing arts. This non-profit organization was founded to honor the imaginative spirit of the late Clare Dahlia Snetsinger through the awarding of annual scholarships.

Clare Dahlia Snetsinger Awards of Excellence are presented to talented 11th and 12th grade high school students attending public or private schools or being home schooled in Centre County, Pennsylvania to encourage their continued involvement in the arts. Samples of applicants’ work are evaluated by a jury of experts who then determine scholarship recipients in visual and performing arts categories. Since the first scholarships were awarded in 1999, past recipients have gone on to successful post-high school education and continuing artistic development.

Initially underwritten by a special grant, future scholarships will be provided from funds obtained through a variety of fundraising activities and through personal and corporate donations that can be made at any time. The money to be distributed for scholarships is held in a Designated Fund, The Clare Dahlia Snetsinger Memorial Art Scholarship Fund, of the non-profit Centre County Community Foundation. The scholarship fund was founded by Craig and Mary Kay Avedesian in 1999 to honor Clare’s creativity and humanity.

The Clare Fund conducts fund-raising efforts in support of the scholarship competitions. Incorporated in Pennsylvania, The Clare Fund is a non-profit corporation under Section 501 (C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954.
